EU Diplomats ?

Update: BBC changed their story at 16:40 BST. Mention of 'Diplomat' removed. Glad to see that he has been put back in his box and referred to by his proper Civil Servant title of European Commission President.

The BBC is
reporting that the European Commissions top ‘Diplomat’ is meeting with the
Northern Ireland first minister and deputy first
minister. Receiving their orders no
doubt.

I was under
the impression that you had to represent a State to be a diplomat.

Where has
the UNELECTED European Commission been recognised as a State?, AND of what State is Jose
Manuel Barroso
a ‘Diplomat’.?

Or have the
BBC forgotten that the EU is only a
trade agreement, not a country.
